Social interactions can be a challenge for some children especially on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They often face barriers in creating and maintaining friendships and are therefore discouraged by the complex social world around them.
We offer our social skills programs in a very innovative way so that participants do not readily recognize them as social skills classes! We create naturalistic settings through fun games, arts, music, sports, board games and other exciting activities where participants get a chance to practice and improve their social skills. We provide supervised opportunities for successfully engaging in social interactions, communication, eye contact, joint attention, perspective taking, turn taking, sharing, problem solving, negotiating, compromising, following and leading, sportsmanship behavior, interpreting body language and nonverbal communication, using sense of humor and much more.
We use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in order to design evidence-based behavioral procedures to teach social skills. The program is designed for individuals between the ages of 2 and 18 and classes are organized by age, specific needs, and developmental skills. Treatment is individualized to meet the participant’s unique needs and goals based on initial and ongoing assessment.
Mastering social skills is essential to successful integration of individuals with autism in daily life. Our program can be instrumental in developing successful interactions with others whether at home, community, school or work.
